Liz’s WHY & Ethics as a Teacher Statement:

What has emerged in both my life and my work are two simple but powerful questions:

How can I share supportive wellness tools with others?

And what tools are most helpful?

Yoga is one of those tools. Meditation is another. Creativity and creative practices also hold a vital place in this toolkit.

My ethics as a teacher:

  • I will practice. That means practicing at home, in other teachers’ classes, and continuing high-level training. What I teach will always be rooted in my lived experience.

  • I will not take for granted the power I hold when I step into the room as a teacher. I approach this role with professionalism, respect, clear communication, and a strong commitment to consent. I offer mindful presence and mindful response.

  • I am here to serve and support my students. My intention is to be of benefit - to reduce suffering and harm, and to contribute to a more peaceful world.

  • I am human, and I have biases. I will make mistakes. I commit to humbling myself, acknowledging them, and learning from them.

My Two Core Values as a Leader—And What They Lead To:

  • Integrity → Ethics, Peace, Service, Environmentalism

  • Balance → Moderation, Well Being

    • This includes conscious balancing of authentic wholeheartedness, lightheartedness, and humor - with discipline, rigor, and earnestness.

“What we’re doing in practice is feeling the actuality of how life is pulsing, moving, flowing and swirling, fast and slow, rhythmically, within our own body, within our own direct experience.”

— Jack Kornfield
