Resources: When Meditation is Not Enough

This is an evolving list of resources that I often offer students when mindfulness and meditation are not enough! I believe they are not meant to be a cure-all. We need a variety of tools in our self-care tool kit. We may need more than one teacher or one practice. It’s okay to ask for help and to try new things.

Shine A Light Counseling Center (NorCal)

- Shine a Light is a nonprofit Counseling Center is committed to making therapy affordable. They accept many insurances, offer sliding scale for everyone else, and have both in-person and online counseling available.

How Not To Be A Hot Mess: A Buddhist Survival Guide for Modern Life by nico + devon hase

- Short, easy to read, modern language, chock full of scientific study references, and personal anecdotes. Based on the Buddhist precepts but delivered in a very easy to understand way.

- One of my all-time go-to’s when life is hard. And pretty much anything by Pema Chödrön.
